Common problems and solutions in teaching a foreign language

Today leaning a foreign language and being able to utilize at least two 
foreign languages have become the demand of the age of technology and science. 
Hence, nowadays plenty of youth are in the process of studying novel languages.
Moreover, while learning a foreign language, they are coming across a wide range 
of difficulties. Even in some situations their attempts are ending without efficient 
results. The reason of this is that the learner can not define his or her own learning 
style. As a result, the student does not achieve an expected result.

There are multitude of methods to learn a new language and of course, they 
vary according to the language. For instance, there are a lot of books and electronic 
software for the people who desire to learn a language. They are compiled and 
created by skillful philologists. For example, Headway published by Oxford Press
is considered the best choice for language learners.
As to methods, a communicative approach is believed to be the most 
productive one. By this approach the learner can increase his knowledge and at the 
same time have a chance of communicating with his group mates. Apart from this, 
there is a map method. By means of this method the learner may learn plentiful of 
words easily and amusingly. For instance, he finds the word “ pencil” unknown for 
him and will learn it. Then, he tries to find all the related word such as pen, 
crayons, book, notebook and will learn them by heart. By this approach the 
vocabulary stock of the student gets enlarged quickly. Additionally, there are more 
learning styles such as auditory, visual and kinesthetic. 
Auditory learners learn by listening. They learn well in classrooms, listening 
to teachers talk or by watching speeches, or listening to podcasts. When learning 
alone or revise auditory learners find that talking helps . 
Visual learners learn by seeing. They might like information presented in 
charts or diagrams, using written information or watching a demonstration. If they 
self- study, they use diagrams, mind- maps or written notes that are highlighted. 
Kinesthetic learners learn by doing. Movement and touching or interacting 
with what they are trying to learn works best for them. 
In addition, if a student is well aware of the all grammar rules of his own 
native language, he can learn a new language faster and easier. Thus, being known 
with similar and distinctive features of different languages help student to learn a 
foreign language in a simply way. Having the ability of distinguishing and finding 
similarities of a language make the student confident in himself. Afterwards he can 
be able to learn another foreign language on his own without any teacher`s support. 
On top of that, there are many sites on the internet by which students can both 
increase their knowledge and have their minds refreshed. Because, they are created 
like a game and can smoothly call learners` attention to the tasks given. 
“You need motivation to repeatedly seek out new language learning 
experiences, and motivation has been consistently tied to language learning 
success,”
says Angela Grant
, from Pennsylvania State University. If a learner is 
motivated, he can achieve more than he expected.
