employed with harmful and (or) dangerous working conditions.
Despite some positive aspects, the processes of modernization of production
facilities remain relevant. The situation with sanitary and technical problems at
industrial enterprises practically does not change. There are still an insufficient
number of sanitary facilities in the production areas of small business facilities, where
there are also problems with the provision of special clothing and shoes for workers.
At the same time, an analysis of the working conditions of workers in the
Republic of Uzbekistan shows that the total number of people working in harmful
working conditions is steadily decreasing and was recorded in 2016 at the level of
150928 against 149600 in 2020, this is 9 % lower.
The number of women working in harmful working conditions has practically
not changed and remained at the level of 13 %

Such data are associated, on the one hand, with the high degree of depreciation
of fixed assets of organizations, on the other hand, with the structure of economic
activities of the Republic, which is dominated by activities objectively related to the
presence of dangerous and harmful production factors (mining, metallurgical
industry, chemical and petrochemical industries, agricultural complex, etc.).
In the matters of labor protection, special attention of trade unions is paid to
ensuring the prevention of industrial accidents and occupational diseases, and also
causes concern of trade unions about the state of occupational safety and health.
For this purpose, only over the past period, trade union organizations have
studied the state of labor protection in 15 thousand 769 enterprises, 9 thousand
185 submissions have been made to employers on cases of violations of labor
protection rules, 85 % of the existing shortcomings have been eliminated. Collective
agreements have also been included and more than 927 thousand 750 labor protection
measures have been implemented, aimed at preventing industrial accidents and
occupational diseases, improving the working conditions of employees. For this
purpose, employers spent 449 billion 532 million 572 thousand 695 UZS.
The results of the analysis of industrial injuries in the Republic of Uzbekistan
