Present Perfect.
Draw students’ attention on the grammar spot. Give students some time to look 
through it. You may wish to ask some comprehension questions. For example:
– What is present perfect?
possible answers:
When we use the present perfect 
there is always a connection with now. the action in the past has a result 
now
:
“Where is your key?” “I don’t know. I’ve lost it.” (I haven’t got it 
now
)
 
– He told me his name but I have forgotten it. (I can’t remember it 
now
)
– “is sayyora here?” “no, she has gone out.” (she is out 
now
)
We often use present perfect to give new information or to announce a recent 
happening:
– Ow! I’ve cut my finger.
– the road is closed. there’s been (=there has been) an accident.

from the news
) The police have arrested two men in connection with the 
robbery.

Ask students to complete the sentences using the verbs in the brackets in the 
correct form. 
e.g.
I (play) with Farruh Dustov today. Unfortunately I (lose) the game. I have 
played with Farruh Dustov today. Unfortunately I have lost the game.
