Introduction.
AIn 2020, the Department of hotel
and restaurant business of Saint-Petersburg State
University of Economics
implemented a research
project by order of the RussianAInformation Center
(Mumbai,A India) and
Russian-IndianA Information
Center (Saint-Petersburg, Russia), the founders of
the “India Friendly” program. The research topic is
«Development of scientifi c and methodological rec-
ommendations for presenting the resources of the
Russian hospitality industry in theA Indian market,
taking into account national and cultural character-
istics and needs of tourists fromAIndia, and introduc-
tion of information content “Hospitable Russia” for
the portal RUSSINFO.IN”» [1, 5–7] as part of the
“India Friendly” program. The main goal of the work
was to create scientifi c and methodological recom-
mendations for presenting the Russian tourist re-
sources on theAIndian tourist market, taking into ac-
count the national and cultural characteristics and
needs of tourists fromAIndia, and to introduce infor-
mation content “Hospitable Russia” for the website
RUSSINFO.IN”.
The main tasks of the work were as follows:
—Aanalysis of the prospects for the development
ofAIndian tourism;
—Aidentify the service features forAIndian tourists
in the Russian enterprises of accommodation and food;
—Acreate recommendations for guides with respect
to working with tourists fromAIndia;
—Acharacteristics of the tourist resources of the
Russian regions in terms of their use in sightseeing
routes for tourists fromAIndia.
A special place in the study was given to the de-
velopment and implementation of information con-
tent “Hospitable Russia” for the website RUSSINFO.
IN. The regions of Russia that are most attractive
forAIndian tourists were identifi ed. A list of attractions
in the Russian regions that are considered the most
attractive for tourists fromAIndia has been compiled,
and texts describing the main attractions have been
compiled to place them on the website RUSSINFO.
IN. This site will be promoted among potential tour-
ists inAIndia.
Students of the Department of hotel and restau-
rant business of the Saint Petersburg state University
of Economics were involved in solving the problem
of developing information content for the site [3].
Educational institutions have to convince teachers
that mobile technology is a great help for education
[4]. This article will present some of the results of
research work, highlight the key features of the orga-
nization of students’ activities, assess the problems of
organizing work and the advantages of students’ par-
ticipation in an applied research project. First-and
second-year students were involved in the process of
organizing work on the creation of information con-
tent, as part of the study of disciplines related to the
profi le of scientifi c work. During practical classes on
the courses “World culture and art”, “Tourist attrac-
tions of St. Petersburg”, “Introduction to the profes-
sion”, forms of control were identifi ed, including
reporting in the form of specifi c works-texts-descrip-
tions of the main attractions of Russia for posting
them on the website RUSSINFO.IN. Students had
the opportunity to work in mini groups of 2–3Apeople.
This made it possible to optimally distribute the re-
sponsibilities of searching for information, processing
it, writing, and editing the article, and translating it
into English.
