example, due to this type of competence, we are able to smoothly change the course 
of a conversation if we see that an uncomfortable topic was touched upon. 
Typically, when watching fictional films that simulate real life situations, it will be 
very easy to achieve this effect. Since we live in one civilized society of people, the 
elementary norms of strategic competence are practically the same for everyone. 
Regardless of the country and the state language, if the country is civilized at least 
with an elementary level of secondary education, then you it is not even necessary to 
learn anything special about strategic competence. Almost all cultures have the same 
non-verbal, exactly both “approving” and “offensive” gestures, facial expressions and 
posture. In any case, in our example of a two-way communication between the 
English and Russian languages, there are no such exceptions. For example, the 
fingers are gathered in a fist and the thumb is pointing up, for both cultures means a 
sign of approval. Direct insult is also not permissible in the culture of the two 
countries, this will be followed in both cases by some kind of consequences. It can be 
concluded that, when watching authentic English-language films, a student without a 
“shocking effect” perceives the current situation as similar in terms of elementary 
norms and decency for his home country.
