“Tálim sistemasında elektron tálim ortalıǵında

protector. What are the associations with the word "collar" that a reader of another culture
would find in an unfortunate translation?
In Russian linguistics, research on intercultural communication was initially
considered a part of social linguistics. The first textbook by S.G. TerMinasova "Language
and Intercultural Communication" is well-known [2, 2000]. The author's valuable insight:
"Obviously, language as a mirror of culture reflects all the most important and enduring
changes in the way of life and the mentality of a nation" confirms the importance of
intercultural communication.
The main objective of the "Country Studies" discipline, developed in the process of
teaching the Russian language to foreigners, was the formation of intercultural
communication through the introduction of the national features, social, cultural and historical
situation in the country while teaching the language. The work of E.M.Vereshchagin and
V.T.Kostomarov "Language and Culture" (Moscow, 1989) should be especially noted in this
respect. After Kazakhstan gained independence, the Kazakh language began to be taught as
the state language to foreign-language citizens. For this reason, the publication of the book
by R. D. Karymsakova and G. N. Smagulova "Kazakh Language. Country Study through
Phraseological Expressions" (Almaty, 1997. 9.7 p.l.). This is the first domestic work
dedicated to the intercultural communication.
In the subsequent years, a number of academic papers on the theory of translation,
foreign language teaching, comparative cultu- rology, contrastive prag-matics, etc. have been
published, dedicated to the in- depth and comprehensive study of the concept of intercultural
communication (Sadokhin A. P. The theory and practice of intercultural communication: a
textbook for higher educational institutions. - M., 2004; Petrova O.V. Intercultural
communication in translation. - Moscow, 2003; Mashantseva N.V. Intercultural
communication in the process of language learning. - Moscow, 2008, etc.).
Intercultural communication processes are intensifying not only within economic,
professional and cultural-social relations, but also in the context of developing international
relations in education and science, as well as in tourism. This practical need has prompted the
formation and development of a new discipline called "Intercultural Communication".
As an academic discipline, "Intercultural Communication" is based primarily on the
achievements of cultural anthropology and research findings related to communicative
processes in society. It receives significant input from such disciplines as cognitive and social
psychology, sociology, cognitive linguistics and linguistic typology in the study of
communication. The methods and techniques of these sciences are also diverse. The reasons
for this are to be understood in the peculiarities of the phenomenon of communication, which
never stops, but is continually being amplified in terms of content and form, and is uniquely
human.
The concept of 'mentality' is central to intercultural communication. Attention is drawn to the
works of V. V. Kolesov on the mentality that stands out from the national mentality. One of
these works notes: "mentality is something soul-soft, an ethical rather than a logical concept,
and not even a concept, but a representation ... Mentality is "a national way of expressing and
perceiving the world, society and the individual in the forms and categories of the mother
tongue. [3, 11]. At the same time, the author specifies: "But mentality is also a cultural
phenomenon, that is why an approach to it is also possible in the ethno-social, ethno-cultural
aspect. [4, 7].
In linguistics cognitive linguistics highlights the "human factor" (Popova Z.D., Sternin
I.A. The concept of "concept" in linguistic research. Moscow, 1999, A. P. Babushkin, Types
of Concepts in the Lexical and Phraseological System of the Higher School of Economics,
