The verbals have tense and voice distinction

The use of the Gerund.
In modern English the Gerund is widely used. The Gerund is used after the verbs that require being remembered (learned by heart).
To avoid: The boy avoided meeting his father.
To burst out: She burst out crying (laughing).
To deny: The denied having broken in.
To enjoy: I enjoy teaching. My students enjoy being taught by me.
To excuse: Excuse my leaving you all alone.
To fancy: Then you finish his fending treasure in his garden.
To finish: When you finish eating clear the table, please.
To forgive: Forgive my intruding into your life.
To give up: Give up smoking, please.
To go on: He went on reading thought it was dark.
To keep on: The mother kept on scolding her son.
To leave off: I left off shooting.
To mind: Do you mind opening the window.(neg. and interrog.). Do you mind my opening the window.
To postpone to thank for
To put off to think off
Can not help doing smth. To give up the idea of
To accuse of to look forward to
To agree to not to like the idea of
To approve of to miss an (the) opportunity of
To complain of (about) to be aware of
To depend on to be busy in
To feel like to be capable of

Predicative Constructions with Gerund
In a predicative construction with the Gerund the nominal part can be expressed by:

1. 
   A noun in the Possessive Case.
   

I don’t like Bob’s frequenting our place.

2. 
   A Possessive pronoun.
   

Excuse my being rude.

3. 
   A noun in the Common Case ( a thing)
   

They spoke of my room being ready for me.

4. 
   The pronouns all, this, that, both, each, something.
   

I insist on both of you coming in time.

5. 
   A personal pronoun I the Objective case.
   

Forgive me disturbing you.
Some grammarians call the gerundial construction where the nominal part is expressed by a noun in the Common Case or a personal pronoun in the Objective Case and the pronouns (all, this, both, each, smth.) a half – gerund.
