In most of the societies, the role of mother and father differs. What are the causes of this 
difference? What will be the parental roles in future? 
In many regions, there is a difference in the responsibilities of parents regarding the care of their 
children due to different reasons. Definitely, it is expected to have some changes in the future in 
the duties of guardians in upbringing the child. 
There are number of factors responsible for this distinction between the duties of both parents.
First and foremost reason, mothers have much more emotional understanding with the children 
and they make stronger bonds with the child and are more in tune with child’s needs and feelings 
so automatically the responsibility of mother increases. Moreover, industries and organizations give 
more preference to men due to the fact that they are physically and emotionally strong and can 
easily tackle the hard situations on work premises so when they are out of home for work, naturally 
females are the ones who had to take care of the young ones. Finally, illiteracy level of women in 
society is low and people tend to follow old fuddy-duddy customs and traditions due to which they 
believe that role of mother is just to give birth to a child and look after him and even women are 
also deprived from education, so they are not able to get good job, as a result they have to sit at 
home and take care of the children themselves. 
However, in future the scenario will change. Firstly, we are stepping forward towards era of 
globalization and westernization due to the influence of western culture so it is certainly going to 
happen that females will take equal responsibilities and will work for the holistic development of 
their child. Secondly, due to equal rights movement, women will be more educated and 
broadminded by virtue of which they will plan things for bright and shiny future of their children, as 
a result of which women empowerment will rise and females will become equal breadwinners in 
family. Lastly, we cannot ignore the fact that it may also be possible that parents will hire 
caretakers for them in the upcoming days and act as financial supporters for their loved ones so 
that they will not face any kind of difficulty during any stage of their life. 
In conclusion, no doubt certain differences do exist in tasks performed by parents as far as their off 
springs are concerned but due to changes in social belief, advancement of women is surely going to 
happen and this will help to eliminate the gender discrimination in the nurturing of kids .
