Dear Members, Just a brief newsletter to remind members of our May 14th meeting. I’m sure everyone knows the drill by now, 6:30 PM Dinner, 7:30 PM Meeting. Same location, Barbara Fritchie.
Our 21st annual truck show is now history. 67 trucks were registered down from over 100 last year and a marked drop from previous years. Jack Boglitsch’s A20 Mack was the people’s choice award winner and Jack also won the 50/50 for $145 dollars which he donated $70 dollars back to the club. The Longest Distance Traveled was Cindy and Rich Fraer from Avella, PA which is next to the West Virginia border. Pat Herbst was presented with the Phil Ridgley Award for all that she has done for all these years.
We are again going to sponsor the Veterans Dinner at the Tri-State show. We are trying to have more Vets from the VA attend so we need additional support. Please contact me or Mark if you can help. 2014 DUES ARE DUE, 2015 CAN BE PAID

Dates for the 2014 meetings at Barbara Fritchie’s are: May 14, July 16, September 10, and November 19. The Picnic will again be at Doug Jones Garage on Sunday June 22, 2014.
There was a meeting on April 12, 2014 at the York Expo Center (Fair Grounds) to discuss the upcoming 2015 National show to be held there. There are now five chapters helping as Metro New Jersey has come onboard. There was a Tri-State meeting at the show, the club dinner will be on Thursday night at 5PM or a little after per Laura. The Tri-State dinner is on Friday night at 5PM, please help with contributions so we can support our veterans
In closing, Mel Fair has retired from Central Maryland Truck. The Motor Home is rolling the miles as it travels the USA. Next stop, Springfield MO. at the National Show. Just a little secret, The RV has a CAT C7 Engine (NOT an International). Sorry Mel I had to let the CAT out of the bag. I have also made a change to the Hood Scoop, It is now published as a word document which should make it easy to copy. A big Thank You to Pat Herbst, Mel Fair, Wayne Shankle, Randy Pickett, Mike Uphold for all you do and have done to support the chapter each and every year at the show

Dues and Membership
The policy of the ATHS and the bylaws of the Mason Dixon Chapter state you must be an ATHS member to be a member of the local chapter. On the issue of dues, this will be the last year that we will accept dues year round. For 2015 dues will be accepted starting now with the last dues collection at the Festivus in January. The chapter has to submit a list of members to the ATHS by the 31st of January of each year. This is when the ATHS audits membership to see if the chapter members are ATHS members. We can no longer carry members that are past due on their dues.
The Hood Scoop is published on the first week of the odd month when possible. Deadline for submission to the Calendar of Events and For Sale / Wanted is the third Friday of the even month.
