�� Task approach: 
Read through the summary at normal speed so that you have a fair idea of what it is 
about. Read the statements and underline the key words. 
Always think about the types of words that are needed, for example, nouns, verbs, 
adjectives etc. 
- Look at the surrounding words for clues about the missing word in terms of collocation.
- Try to predict some of the missing words
Skim and scan the text, focusing on relevant information. Use the key words in the 
questions to locate the answers in the passage. Look out for synonyms and parallel 
expressions. Read carefully once you find the search areas. 
- Make sure the completed sentence is grammatically accurate and has the meaning as
the text.
