LEXICAL-SEMANTIC REPRESENTATION OF THE CONCEPT
OF “RESPECT” IN TAJIK AND ENGLISH 
 
Abstract. The given article is dedicated to the lexical-semantic representation of the 
concept “Respect” in comparative languages. The article throws light to the main 
aspects of the lexical-semantic field of the concept “Respect”. As it turned out, the 
analyses of the semantic area, also concept “Respect” is feasible through the study of 
the lexical-semantic fields which make the ascertainment of the semantics and valence 
of the lexemes possible. The bases of the lexical-semantic field are that, words in a 
language are not separated, but form semantic groups. The function of the term 
“lexical-semantic field” in language is in the focus of modern definitions.
In the study process of the “Respect” concept it is demonstrably confirmed that its 
different forms, structure and content are relative.
