-
Carolyn Murphy (862) Is the Assessment staying the same this year? The answer is yes.
Power Line update
Russell Scott (1008) - We now have new power to the island. The power now runs through the ramp area of our landing and directly out to the island. There is now a circuit between all the islands. If we have to redo our landing at some time in the future, the wire is in a good position away from launch.
Paul Litchfield (298) – Reminded Russell that the first spool was short. This spool was supposed to go from Rattlesnake to Treasure Island.
Jeff Wood (32). Is there open space in the conduit to run other wire? Yes
John Downing (722) There are 4 lots (722-744) that don’t have power and do not complete the loop on the island. He was told to apply for power and he would have to pay the expense. He’d like RIA to work on his behalf to help get power to their property. Chuck Klaubert (934)– This is the first time we have heard they need our approval. According to John Downing, this was part of the original by laws. John would burden the expense, and he’d like the RIA to help influence the power company and decision makers. Russell Scott (1008) will ask the power company to see what can be done.
Debra Zollner (744) Do you know what is involved to get power to these lots? Russell Scott (1008) provided his view on how the power company gets machinery and poles out to the island.
Additional Business
Russell Scott 1008 provided some additional updates:
-
Implored the organization to keep the landing clean and dump your trash appropriately.
-
The 4x4 post that holds the contractor sign has been broken. Russell is in need of someone to help fix it. Please contact Russell if you are able to help.
-
Ant Farm (Ant Man) – He did 35 homes on Rattlesnake recently. Cost is $120-$150. Phone#548 0839. You don’t have to be there for work to be done. He will do both inside and outside based on your preference.
-
Trailer storage area - We have approx 85 storage spots. 54 are ok as is. 7 of them you cannot read the information on the lifetime stickers. If you have a sticker that is unreadable get with Karen Sedlar to get a new sticker. There are 12 with expired annual stickers. Many trailers don’t show regular use. If you don’t need the trailer there, please take it home. Last year 3 trailers were towed. Fines for trailer storage can get expensive. Gulbicki Towing is whom RIA uses. Phone number is 366-5402
-
Russ (298) – Are the trailer stickers annual? No. You get 1 pass/lot automatically. Other trailer will be additional cost.
-
Chuck Klaubert (934) If the number on the trailer is visible, can we pull the number and contact the customer. Yes we can. Can you switch from trailer to trailer? Yes – you can. You can attach to a PVC pipe to allow it to be transferrable.
New Business
John Downey (722) is part of a milfoil committee to help eradicate milfoil from waterways. We need volunteers to help identify this milfoil. Check you boat for milfoil. If you are interested, please see John.
Lorette Girard (312) son Chris Girard is operating a lake construction/improvements. Please see her for information.
Leslie Fabian (954). There are huge dips in the construction road. Can we get the owners of those who build homes to fix up the road? Russell Scott (1008) doesn’t think there is a whole lot that can be done. It gets expensive for homeowners to pay the extra cost to help maintain the road. There is one benefit, the more the island gets developed the better the road is getting.
Unannounced Resident (??) just heard that DSL Internet is available on the island. Steve Cloutier (250)– Yes, it is 1.5 MBPS and is good. Russell Scott (1008) suggests that the phone reps for FairPoint don’t always know that access is available for the island, so you may need to convince them. Many island residents have it now.
Board Nominations
Bob Moores – Expiring Term (3 years)
Chuck Klaubert (934) moves to put Bob Moores on the Ballot. Asks for additional nominations. None offered up. Chuck asked the board nominate Bob unanimously. Accepted.
Free Annual Dues Raffle
Drawing for free annual dues to those in attendance of meeting. Ladebauche 804 wins.
Fire Safety
Russell Scott (1008) If you are going to have a brush fire, you need a permit. If you don’t get one, you can get fined. Rattlesnake Island can be seen from everywhere, and if someone calls and states there is a fire on the island, the fire department has to respond and come out. Please play by the rules – its safer for everyone.
Move to close meeting. Motion to adjourn: Jim Reams (426), Second: Chuck Klaubert (934) Passed.
Meeting was closed at 950am.
