Liars! 
How to spot them 
He thinks he‘s getting away with it, but his body and his voice are giving him away. He‘s stumbling 
over  his  words.  He‘s  fidgeting  and  nervous.  His  hands  won‘t  stay  still  and  his  palms  are  probably 
sweaty as well. He seems to be smiling, but there‘s a little bit of tension around his lips and his nose. 
Although the bottom half of his face is forming a smile, it hasn‘t reached his eyes. He‘s looking at you 
straight in the eyes and he appears to be 100% sincere, but the tone of his voice has dropped and the 
rhythm of his speech has slowed down. There‘s no doubt about it: he‘s lying. 
 
Screen liars 
It‘s 1960s New York. Don Draper is a successful advertising executive, a happily married man with a 
beautiful wife. But all of this is built on a lie, or better said, a series of lies. Even his name is a lie. He 
‗stole‘ it from an officer who was killed fighting in Korea. He returned to the States and turned his 
back on his past. With no experience and no qualifications he lied his way into a job with a successful 
advertising agency, where his talent in lying and selling lies makes him a big success. 
Everything seems to be going really well. 
Everybody  respects  and  looks  up  to  him,  no  one  knows  about  his  past.  Until  one  day  that  is,  when 
Don‘s half-brother suddenly appears.....
