It means do not go in. You are out of the room, and you must continue to
be out of the room.
Stay out
means exactly the same.

keep up, keep up with
Do you remember
catch up
? If a shoplifter - a thief who steals from shops
- runs away, perhaps the store detective will run after him. Maybe he or
she is a good runner and can catch up with the thief.
You are running a race with an Olympic champion. Perhaps you have a
really really good day, and you catch him up. Then your problems have
just begun, because now he will get serious. You have to keep up. You
have to keep up with him.
We have a very common expression for the desire to have the same car
or better, or the same clothes or better, than our neighbour. This is called
Keeping up with the Joneses
KEEP UP is a

KEEP UP WITH is a

. No problem either.
knock

To hit something hard with something else hard. You knock on the door
with your knuckles or with the heavy metal door-knocker. Unfortunately,
knock often means wood against bone. Knocking your head on a low
doorway can be painful.
