out of
A burglar - a kind of thief who enters (goes
in
) buildings by breaking
windows or doors - 'earns' his living by breaking in. He breaks into
people's houses and steals what he can find. In English law this is known
as 'breaking and entering'.
If he is unlucky, he will find himself in a prison. A prison is designed to be
very difficult to break out of. It is very, very, very unlikely that he will ever
break out.
Alfred, who plays his guitar every night in the street, is trying to break
into the music business.
Armando has written a brilliant new screenplay. He expects that this will
help him break into Hollywood.
(They feel as if the music business and Hollywood are protected places or
castles.)
Poor Paul is bored stiff with his life. He is bored with his job, with his
home, and with his friends. He wants to break out of his routine.
(He feels it as a prison, and he wants to break out of it.)
