Merchant service provider (MSP)
Entity that, for a fee, manages payment card accept-
ance and collection of funds for businesses such as hotels.
Message on hold
System that eliminates the silence that occurs when guests are required
to wait (hold) for their call to be picked up by the party the caller is attempting to reach.
Mid-price full-service hotel
Lodging property offering three meals daily, a lounge, a
swimming pool, and limited meeting and banquet spaces.
Mid-price limited-service hotel
Lodging property within the limited-service segment
that offers selected property and within-room upgrade amenities for room rates that are
higher than budget (economy) hotels within the limited-service segment.
Military time
System of time keeping that does not use the designations a.m. and p.m. to
differentiate hours but, rather, identifies hours of the day by the sequence of their occur-
rence (1–24). For example,
