Nowadays the distance education is playing an im-
portant role in students’ life because of the advanced 
technology of teaching and learning. In the past, stu-
dents had to spend a certain amount of time and mon-
ey on their way to college and universities. Since the 
Internet was developed, distance learning has made 
the communication much easier between students and 
professors (teachers) than ever before. Attending a 
distance course, learners can study at their own place
time, according to individual choices and fl exible sched-
ules, and combine different activities simultaneously. 
There are two main categories of distance learning: 
synchronous and asynchronous. Synchronous type is 
accomplished in real time as in traditional education. 
Asynchronous type of study is when the learner and 
teacher are not physically in the same room like typi-
cal classes, but there is a far distance between them. 
On the other hand, asynchronous type is much more 
fl exible, as the student is responsible to fi nd, learn and 
digest the information related to the studied topic he is 
learning. It can be done with the help of portable de-
vices, for example: CDs and DVDs. This way helps to 
improve self-study skills where students are indepen-
dent and decision-makers.
Distance education requires changing the structure 
and methods of the training process through the tran-
sition:
