Charles Millward – American star of Doyle’s play The
Speckled Band, which received its US premiere on 21 November
1910 at the Garrick Theater, New York (see HA Saintsbury).
John Moffatt – Appeared in the BBC Radio 4 play Sherlock
Holmes vs. Dracula, written, produced and directed by Glyn
Dearman. It was broadcast in the UK on 19 December 1981.
He later played Watson opposite Dinsdale Landen and Roy
Marsden.
Ron Moody – British character actor in humorous roles, and
the star of Sherlock Holmes – The Musical (music, lyrics and book
by Leslie Bricusse) which opened at the Northcott Theatre,
Exeter on 18 October 1988.
Alan Moore – Star of the 1970 revival of Doyle’s play The
Speckled Band, performed from 22 September to 10 October at
the Library Theatre, Manchester.
Eugene Moore – Appeared in the American production of
John F Preston’s The Bank of England at the Grand Theatre,
New York, in  February  1904.

October 1976 (opposite Patrick Macnee as Watson). A
proposed series never materialised.
Alan Napier – Born in Birmingham, this tall, dapper British
character is best known for playing Alfred the butler in the
1960s TV  series  Batman. A regular guest star on American tele-
vision, in 1949 he played Holmes in The Adventure of the Speckled
Band, an episode of the television anthology series Your Show
Time which featured dramatised short stories by famous
authors such as Guy de Maupassant and Robert Louis
Stevenson. The 25-minute Marshall-Grant-Realm Television
production was directed by Sobey Martin.
