have all three stages of articulation, however, the plosion of the first consonant is very weak, 
it is almost not heard. This articulation of plosive consonants is called an incomplete plosion . 
The letter

and the combination

at the end of a word are not read. However, if

at the junction of words before a word starting with a vowel sound, then a connecting sound 
[r] arises between them, which is called linking [r]; words in this case are pronounced 
together, for example:

The plosive consonants [t], [d] with the lateral sonant [l] are pronounced together, with 
a mute sound between them. In combinations [tl] [d1] both sounds are apical-alveolar. When 
they are articulated, the front edge of the tongue remains on the alveoli, the lateral edges of 
the tongue drop, and air comes out of the oral cavity with the noise of a light plosion. This 
type of plosion is called a lateral or lateral plosion. For example:

The combination of plosives [t], [d] with the nasal sonant [n] is characterized by the 
fusion of their pronunciation. The front edge of the tongue, when pronouncing the apical-
alveolar combinations [tn], [dn], does not detach from the alveoli, and air passes through the 
nasal cavity with a small plosion. Such explosion is called a nasal plosion. For example: 
burden [dn], button [tn
] [4; 221]. 
From the above, we can conclude: in English, they have different types of 
assimilations - full, partial and intermediate. Depending on the direction of action, 
assimilation is progressive, regressive and double (mutual). If the modern pronunciation is a 
consequence of the assimilative processes that took place earlier in the language, then we can 
talk about the so-called historical assimilation. Not all cases of assimilation are applicable in 
literary pronunciation.
