Not all cases of assimilation are applicable in literary pronunciation. We are talking 
about established assimilation, when it becomes so common in the speech of native speakers 
that non-observance of its rules leads to a violation of the norm. For example,

Accidental assimilation is the result of careless hasty speech and cannot be considered 
a literary norm. 
When analyzing the articulation of an isolated pronounced sound, three stages are 
usually distinguished: on-glide (or excursion) - when the organs of speech move from a 
neutral position to a position necessary for pronouncing a sound; retention - when the organs 
of speech maintain the position necessary for pronouncing the sound; and indentation (or 
recursion) - when the organs of speech return to neutral position. When describing the 
articulation of plosive consonants, these stages are called: closure, exposure, explosion [4; 
216]. 
In speech, sounds are rarely pronounced in isolation, they are combined into words, 
phrases. The connection or concatenation of sounds in words and at the joints of words occurs 
according to certain rules. The end, i.e. the indentation of the preceding sound is linked to the 
first stage, i.e. attack, the subsequent sound, and thus a continuous pronunciation of speech 
sounds is created. Depending on the type of sounds, this coupling occurs in different ways.
