Role of Creativity attribute required for employability of management students

What is meant by creativity? 

According  to  (Sternberg,  1998)  Creativity  is  the  capability  to  produce  work  that  is  both  novel 

(i.e.,  unique,  unpredicted) and  suitable. “To  generate” means  “to  make or bring  out  into  reality 

about-  thing  new”.  When  one  think  of  creative  or  original  activity  perhaps  the  work  of  highly 

talented or creative geniuses comes to mind; the creations of great sculptures, dance composers, 

painters, writers, scientists, mathematicians, inventors, at one extreme are gifted people such as 

those,  whose  work  may  change  the  course  of  civilization  or  character  of  an  art;  at  the  other 

extreme is the vast majority of people who follow the customs of their culture faithfully, rarely 

acting in an original manner. From this point of view, some people are highly creative but most 

of them being followers are highly uncreative. 

Organizations  nowadays  function  in  an  extremely  modest,  international  environment,  making 

creativity vital (Landry, 2017) . Creativity is what energies big thoughts, challenges employees’ 

means of intellectual, and unlocks the door to novel professional prospects. Thus, the belief that 

the  urge  for  creativity  is  quite  inherent  in  every  individual,  though  in  a  varying  degree.  Every 

individual is born creative. Creativity is a special attribute in all individuals. They have the urge 

to  explore  and  investigate  natural  tendency  to  create  something  with  the  aid  of  whatever 

knowledge happen to have at that time. They have unusual curiosity to observe various objects in 

the environment which they like to explore further and assimilate into their experiential structure. 

The act of creating provides new insight and new knowledge for further action. There are reasons 

why creativity is something that grows with time and effort, and it’s worth exploring.
