  Au(0)  nanoparticles  work  by  activation  of 

triple  bond  that  initiates  the  nucleophilic  attack  by  a  carbon 

nucleophile  and  this  reactivity  would  arise  by  interaction  of 

the  low-coordinated  Au  atoms  at  edges  and  corners  with  the 

substrates  in  electrophilic  manner.  The  scope  and  limitations 

of  the  cycloisomerization  reaction  of  series  of  conjugated 

allenyl  ketones  was  attempted.  It  is  interesting  to  note  that 

both  mono-substituted  and  1,3-disubstituted  allenones 

isomerize  at  ambient  conditions  and  the  products  were 

isolated  without  chromatographic  purifications.  But,  3,3-

disubstituted  allenones  were  completely  inert  during  the 

cycloisomerization, 

due 

to 

unfavorable 

pathway 

to 

zwitterionic intermediate. In the

absence  of  acetic  acid,  the  reaction  did  not  proved  effective. 

To  justify  the  role  of  acetic  acid,  deuterated  acetic  acid  (20 

equiv)  was  employed  in  the  cycloisomerization,  but  the 

product was devoid of D incorporation.
