Annotation. This article analyzes the role of rhyme in classical poetry, its features and
the relationship between rhyme, radif and meter in the “Farkhad and Shirin” epic poem by
Alisher Navai. There are also some comments on the main elements that make up the rhyme
in the epic. Active and inactive rhyme types are highlighted. Expressed theoretical views are
interpreted based on couplet in the epic poem. The statistical values of some chapters are
illustrated on the basis of tables. The author also comments on the rhymed accusations that
occur in our classic literature until the 15
th
century.
