Resilience of the adolescent: the notion and the concept
The article deals with studying of psychological aspects of adolescent resilience. 
The authors point to the fact that the resiliency of the adolescent is determined by 
risk factors and protective factors (biological, psychological, environmental and 
social), and define the notion of ‘resilience’ stressing special importance of the subject 
in modern research. This term is defined in the article as the ability of the system to 
preserve its characteristics within given limits, as a form of human activity and 
adaptability. The authors examine resilience factors compliant with psychological 
views on this phenomenon stressing the importance of the stability of the system 
itself and sustainability of the environment harmonized with it. Adolescents are 
regarded as unstable systems, and the environment — as unsustainable and unhar-
monized with them. The authors infer that it is necessary to regard the elements of 
the resiliency system of the adolescent as factors ensuring their social adaptation. 
The following individual personal qualities enhancing resilience include: emotional 
regulation and motivation, level of subjective control (control locus), self-appraisal, 
protective and coping mechanisms, and also survivability. The authors examine the 
influence of the above factors on the development of the resilience of the adolescent 
and on the level of their social adaptation.

Взаимосвязь полезависимости и индивидуально-личностных характе-
ристик в процессе адаптации
В работе исследовались показатели когнитивного стиля «полезависимость-
поленезависимость», полученные с помощью модифицированной методики 
«стержень и рамка» и методики «включенные фигуры». Показана связь поле-
зависимости-поленезависимости с социальной ориентированностью, социаль-
ной адаптацией, признаками психической дезадаптации, структурой психоло-
гических защит. Обнаружено, что асимметрия полей зрения, связанная с 
асимметрией полушарий мозга, также коррелирует с показателями психической 
и социальной адаптации.
