Dependence on a field, individual and personal characteristics
Parameters of cognitive style “field dependence- independence”, received by means 
of the modified technique “rod and frame” and “embedded figures” technique were 
investigated. The relationship between “field dependence- independence” and social

orientation, social adaptation, difficulties of mental adaptation, structure of psychological 
defense is shown. It is revealed, that the asymmetry of fields of vision, associated with 
the asymmetry of brain hemispheres, also correlates with mental and social adaptation.

Опыт категоризации и выделения новых и существенных параметров 
объектов в процессе адаптации
Постулируется одновременное сосуществование в архитектонике менталь-
ной репрезентации структур «разного возраста», или зрелости. Эти структуры 
включают разные сопряжения декларативного и процедурного знания. Приво-
дятся эмпирические данные, подтверждающие идею о том, что не только алфа-
вит признаков, но и способы верификации исследовательских гипотез сущест-
венно различаются в зависимости от актуализированных структур.
Эмпирические исследования, выполненные в парадигме формирования 
искусственных понятий, доказывают, что опыт логической категоризации влия-
ет на результат перцептивной оценки отдельных объектов, а спонтанная пер-
цептивная оценка объектов влияет на основания последующей логической 
категоризации. Полученные результаты анализируются в связи с проблемой 
адаптации «старых» знаний к новым условиям.

Experience of categorization and selection of essential parameters of objects
It postulated that structures of different ages or maturations coexisted simultane-
ously in an architectonic of mental representation. These structures included different 
matters of contingencies of declarative and procedure knowledge. Empirical data sup-
ported an idea that not only alphabet of features but also approaches to verifications of 
research hypothesis changed essentially in dependence on structures being actualized.
Empirical researches realized in paradigm of artificial notions formation proved 
that an experience of logical categorization influenced on results of perceptual esti-
mations of separated objects and that perceptual estimations of these objects influ-
enced on bases of later logical categorization. Obtained results are analyzed in a 
framework of adaptation of “old” knowledge to new circumstances.
