Cull Braly, a highly respected and greatly beloved citizen, died at his home near Bodenham, Wednesday night December the 12^th . He was in his 83^rd year, and had been a consecrated member of Moriah Cumberland Presbyterian Church for more than sixty years. He was a kind, indulgent parent, good neighbor, true and just in all his dealings. He enter the war with his father before he was eighteen years old and remained unto the close. Funeral services were conducted at Moriah Church by the Rev. T. E. Hudson. The large church filled with friends and loved ones deeply grieved at the going away of this good man. Surviving Mr. Braly are seven children, five boys and two girls, also two brothers James Braly of Pulaski and Dug Braly of Texas.

Funeral services for Robert Neal Braly, 77, farmer of the Bodenham community, were held at 1:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at Moriah Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Braly died on Monday morning at his home after several months illness. Lifelong resident of the county, he was born September 22, 1879, the son of the late Robert C. Bralyand Virginia Neal Braly, and was a member of Moriah Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Bralyis survivedbyhis wife, Mrs. Ella Clifton Braly; one daughter, Mrs. Harwood Greene; two sons, Amis Bralyand William Neal Braly; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Montie May and Mrs. Charles Zeigler; and one brother, Finis Braly, all of Giles County. Funeral services for Tyree Kidd Braly, 87, retired farmer of the Fifth Civil District, were held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at Moriah Cumberland Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Robert Hall, pastor of the church. Burial took place in the church cemetery. Mr. Braly died on Monday night, October 30, at the Bodenham home after a years illness. Born October 11, 1874, in Giles County, he was the son of the late James D. Braly and Patty Paisley Braly. He served as an elder in the Moriah Church for many years.

Mr. Braly is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ora Tidwell Braly; one daughter, Mrs. Glen N. Harwell, Pulaski; one son, Ervin M. Braly, Bodenham; and three grandchildren. Bennett-May Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Died at her home near Bodenham, on April 28^th, 1898, at 6 a. m., Mrs. Virginia Braly, wife of Mr. R. C. Braly. She was the younger often children born unto William and Harriet Neal. She was born February 14^th, 1848, became a member of the Christian Church when a girl of 17 summers and remained a true member of the same until her death. She was the mother of seven children, five boys and two girls, the youngest being a little girl of two years. She was a true woman, a kind wife and a devoted mother. She has been a sufferer for many years, yet she bore her afflictions with patience and Christian fortitude. Her sufferings became so severe as to dethrone her reason about two months ago which she never regained until her sweet spirit took passage on the wings of Angels and wafted home to God, who gave it. To the bereaved we would say, so sow not as those who have no hope let us ever be ready for we know not who will be called next, and as death ends us so must eternity. Her remains were interred at Mount Moriah Cemetery on the 29^th, where Elder A. J. Compton made a very appropriate talk in eulogy to the dead and warning to the living. She was 50 years, two months and four days old.

Funeral services for Will Milton Braly, 82, retired farmer of the Bodenham community, will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at Mt. Moriah Cumberland Presbyterian Church, west of Pulaski. Rites will be conducted by the Rev. Paul E. McReynolds, pastor, and the Rev. Mack Pinkelton, Baptist minister, and burial took place in the church cemetery. Mr. Braly died unexpectedly about 9 o’clock Wednesday night at his home following a years declining health caused by a heart ailment. Born October 11, 1872, in Giles County, he was the son of the late Robert Caldwell Braly and Jennie Neal Braly. He had been an elder in Mt. Moriah Cumberland Presbyterian Church for many years. Mr. Braly is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie Hamlett Braly; two sisters, Mrs. Florence May and Mrs. Chrarles Zeigler of the Bodenham community; and two brothers, Finis Braly and Bob Braly, both of Bodenham. Died at Forrest City, Arkansas

The remains of R. A. (Dick) Brandon arrived in Pulaski last Tuesday from Forest City, Arkansas, his late home, to be interred at Moriah. He was killed last Saturday by a younger brother, J. L. Brandon, with a shotgun. They had been partners and had dissolved, and they quarreled over the settlement. The report says that Dick drew a pistol on his brother, who

grabbed a shot gun and killed him instantly. The Brandon family were from Maury County originally, we believe, and went thence to Lawrence, and then moved into the Lindsay neighborhood beyond Vale Mills. Dick married a daughter of Mr. Clayton Witt who yet survives him, and was a brother-in-law of Mr. John D. Baugh, long a merchant in Pulaski.

James Brashears, aged about 47 years died of malarial fever Monday on W. D. Reynolds farm where he had resided for about fifteen years. The burial was at Mt. Moriah Tuesday with services by Rev. Thomas Dyer. Mr. Brashears is survived by his wife and several children including, Mrs. Ida Shaw, Bob, John and Floyd. Mr. Brashears was an honest, hard-working, kindhearted man whose friends regret his death.

Died in this county Feb. 4, 1868, Col. Joseph Brown aged 95 years, 6 months and 2 days. Col. Brown immigrated with his father's family Col. James Brown a Revolutionary officer in the North Carolina line to Tennessee in 1788. His father and brothers were massacred by the Indians in that year. Together with his mother and several sisters and he [,they were] captured and held in captivity for a long time. He died on the 58th anniversary of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, of which he was one of the founders, and was a professed Christian for 80 years. He held the first prayer meeting that was ever held in Maury County, to which he invited in person, every white inhabitant of the county. It is impossible to portray in a brief notice the many noble traits that adorned the character of the deceased, or to give anything like a synopsis of the many daring adventures in the service of his country.

Mrs. Bunch died about 12:30 Saturday morning at the home of her brother, J. P. Tidwell, aged 81 years. Mrs. Bunch had been a member of the Methodist Church for 67 years. She married many years ago and went to Mississippi to reside, returning here about two years ago. Her husband has long been dead and no children survive her. Rev. T. C. Ragsdale conducted funeral services at the residence and the burial was at Mt. Moriah Saturday afternoon.

David W. Burch died at the home of his son, W. T. Burch near Campbellsville Wednesday, June 10. D. W. Burch was born Oct. 7, 1831, and was married Oct. 25, 1860 to Miss Ellen J. Amis, who died Jan. 17. 1866. His second wife was Martha Hancock, whom he married Jan. 18, 1872. She died May 21, 1880. One son W. T. Burch survives. D. W. Burch professed religion and joined the Methodist Church at Pulaski at the age of 18 and lived a member of the church up to the time of his death. The funeral was preached at Moriah Thursday. Rev. Rice and Eshman officiating. A good man has gone to his reward Peace to his ashes.

Mr. Carroll Alexander Burns, age 88, of the Bodenham Community on Agnew Creek Road, died December 2, 1983 at his residence. Funeral services were held in Carr and Erwin Chapel at 2 p. m. Sunday, December 4 with Ray McDonald, MarlinGoodman and Jerome Abernathy officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. A native of Giles County, Mr. Burns was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church. He was a World War I veteran. Mr. Burns was a retired farmer and also retired from the Giles County Highway Department and State of Tennessee Highway Department. Mr. Burns was married to Myrtle Miles Burns. He was the son of the late Wilson and Emma Puryear Burns. Survivors, other than his wife, include two sons: Robert Burns of Pulaski, Miles Burns of Chattanooga; five daughters, June Richardson, Mary Ann Mize, Catherine Braly, all of Pulaski, Corinne Ciborowski of Maryland, Carolyn Kelley of Decherd, Tennessee; 22 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Burns of Pulaski and Miles Burns of Chattanooga; five daughters, Carolyn Kelly of Decherd, Catherine Braly, Mary Ann Mize and June Richardson, all of Pulaski, and Corrine Ciborowski of Bel Air, Md.; one brother, E. P. Miles, Jr. of Pulaski; three sisters, Louise Ayers of Pulaski, Floy Barnes of Fayetteville and Emma Fitzpatrick of Lewisburg; 23 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
