OF MAKING TECHNICAL DETERGENTS BASED ON LOCAL RAW 
MATERIALS» 
An increase, these days, in the field of economy in Uzbekistan has been reported. 
This rise is having a positive effect on all manner of fields, namely detergent 
industry. What is so interesting in terms of this industry is that the majority of raw 
materials have been imported from abroad in a ready-made form so far. If we look at 
the resolution adopted by the President of Uzbekistan in 2009 (No.PQ-1048 
“Producing finishing products, components and materials locally based on industrial 
cooperation [1]’’), it has prompted scientists to carry out research into the field 
concerned. 
It is apparent that one of the leading contributors to our economy is considered 
vegetable oil industry which is a consequence of scientific advances in it. The cotton 
seeds are regarded as the main raw material. When we treat the oil, extracted from 
them, with alkali which is one of the steps in refining oil, a secondary product called 
soap stock appears. In the next stage, fatty acids are obtained from the soap stock 
with the aid of methods – re-soaping and fatty acid degradation. In vegetable oil 
factories, producing cotton seed- based fatty acids creates an opportunity to pump out 
sustainable detergents. In the following table you can see the results achieved by 
analyzing the fatty acid content of soap stock and a fatty-acid mixture being produced 
by ‘’Urganch yog’-moy’’ JSC.[2]. According to the results, it is obvious that the fatty 
acids obtained from cotton seed oil have similarity to the raw materials being applied 
to making detergents.
