In this paper, we will consider borrowings in Russian from English, and how they affect the language as a whole. This problem is extremely relevant in the modern world, because now intercultural communication is happening more and more unconsciously: a mixture of cultures and languages \u200b\u200bis constantly observed, peoples, in order to facilitate communication, adopt words from each other and apply them in practice in their speech, expanding the semantic field of this or that language. another word.
The purpose of the course work is to study the reception and transmission of words from one language to another and the study of their semantic meanings in Russian and English.¹
To achieve this goal, the following tasks are used:

   the study of special literature of the past and present century, to compare the number of borrowings at one time or another;
   
2. 
   formulation of the basic concepts relating to our topic;
   
3. 
   analysis of borrowings of English into Russian;
   
4. 
   study of areas of human activity where borrowing is used.
   

The object of the study is the scope of the use of borrowings from the English language in Russian.
The subject of the study is the lexical and semantic features of English borrowings in Russian.
The methodological basis for the study was the scientific works and articles of famous domestic scientists, teachers and writers.
Publications devoted to the history of the English language, lexicology, stylistics, borrowings were used as a theoretical basis for the study.
As a theoretical basis for the study, excerpts from well-known Internet newspapers and articles containing a large number of borrowings were analyzed.
