DRILLING ON EXTENDABLE CASING

As you know, with casing (liner) drilling technology, we 

obtain a high quality wellbore. 

Experts  drill  and  cement  the  wellbore  during  a  single 

operation.  This  technology  eliminates  separate  tripping 

operations. Hence, the well is ready for cementing immediately 

after reaching the design depth. 

This process increases the safety of drilling and removes 

drilling problems in incompetent rocks. 

We  also  know  the  technology  of  expandable  casing  and 

technical aparatus for it. 

Expandable  pipes  are  good  entrenched  throughout  the 

world.  Expandable  pipes  are  used  in  wells  with  a  bottomhole 

temperature of 204° C and over 8,500 m depth . With pipes of 

this  type  several  hundred  operations  have  already  been 

successfully finished. 

Of all the cases  of expandable tubular applications,  only 

one of them has the greatest benefit - a monobore wells.

In  this  paper,  we  examined  the  existing  methods  of 

casing  drilling.  We  showed  their  features  and  disadvantages. 

After  we  proposed  a  method  of  drilling  on  casing  expandable 

pipes.
