Kamolliddin Begzod

When B. became known as an artist, he was called to service at the court of Sultan Hussein. In 1487, by decree of Sultan Hussein, B. was appointed head of the royal library. It later became the Academy of Arts of its time. Experts call it "Nigorkhanayi Behyud" or "Behzod Academy" (see Herat Miniature School).

During his lifetime in Herat, the artist was actively involved in the creation of Navoi and Sultan Hussein, directed the creation of many prestigious manuscripts, personally participated in the decoration of some of them with elegant paintings, created portraits of a number of contemporaries - Navoi, Jami, Sultan Hussein and others. taught the group the secrets of painting.

Muhammad Shaibanikhan, who conquered B. Herat in 1507-10, was in his service. From this period we have the portrait of Sheibanikhan created by B. In 1510, the city of Herat fell to the Safavids. In 1520, King Ismail invited B. to Tabriz, the capital of his kingdom, to teach the young prince Tahmosib, and in 1522, by a special decree, the artist was invited to his library by the book minds (secretary, painter, muzaklib, tablecloth, halkor, zarkob, lojuvardshoy and others)

After the death of Shah Ismail in 1524, during the reign of Shah Tahmasib, B. had a great reputation. In Tabriz, he collaborated with artists such as Sultan Muhammad, Aga Mirak and Mir Mansur. According to Qazi Ahmad, B. returned to his hometown of Herat at the end of his life and died there. The artist's tomb is in a picturesque place in Kohi Mukhtar (Mount Murad; on the territory of Afghanistan).
