Introduction: Family values: planning the family parents

Whatever we have a right to receive, we have a responsibility to give to others.

A second realization, which arose during the management strategies design task, can come from asking, "What is it that I want or we want to give and receive?" Here, we are not so concerned with giving and receiving things or resources. Of course, we need resources to live, but they are not the foundation of a democratic way of life. Upon reflection, it is realizing that establishing human relationships—where we support others and where others supports us—is a key that make it possible to living in harmonious emotional states. Such states lead to what may be called the "realization-of-rights-and-responsibilities," which can expressed as follows:

We have the right to receive conditions and consequences that support our and other's evolution.

We have the responsibility to give the same to others, so our and their evolution is supported.

These two statements focus on human relationships that support individuals and groups so they could complete their activities successfully and evolve enough to undertake new ones. If rights and responsibilities are clearly specified, then even the very young should see and act according to them. If this is so, then the behavioral expressions of values would emerge even before complex verbal (rule-governed) behavior does. It is at this point that a third realization may emerge. It is this:
