Introduction: Family values: planning the family parents

Principle of Resourcing. Family members have the right to invent, distribute, and use resources so that present and future systems have an increased chance to function according to the Principles of Family, and the responsibility for helping others do the same.

The principle of resourcing reminds us that families are not alone. We have an obligation to future generations and to the planet itself not to waste or over-consume our resources. However, I am talking about more than the idea of conservation or preservation of resources. The principle of resourcing goes well beyond the four R's of environmental responsibility: Reduce, reuse, repair, and recycle. Resourcing is about people, materials, tools, processes, and time. The principle is about our system of resources, including our evolution and ourselves. Thus, I have included the ideas of inventing, distributing, and using them so that present and future members and groups can flourish. In a sense, the principle of resourcing is an umbrella principle; it encompasses all the other values. Its like saying, "We the people, in order to form a more perfect union, must value our resources in the most imaginative ways possible for the present and for the future."
