“Grants for women scientists”[8]. The main purposes of the competition were
widely attracting of women
to science in our republic, supporting idea and
developments of women who are engaging with science-education and scientific
activity in various sectors and areas of the economy, creation of science-intensive
products and innovative technologies.
It is relevance issue that to increase the participation
of women in science
areas in the Uzbekistan. In this regard every year regular various competitions,
projects, and grants are announced by our government and Uzbekistan’s higher
education organizations are becoming advance than other
organizations with its
initiatives in the country. Women with Phd and DSc are rising significantly in every
year; moreover plenty of women are studying their doctorate studies in the abroad.
According to the Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On approval the concept of
development of science until 2030” - PhD or DSc degrees which are obtained in
higher education institutions in overseas, which occupy one of the first 300 places
in the international rankings, are directly recognized as DSc in the Republic of
Uzbekistan. This is great importance in attracting
Uzbek women to science and
motivating women scientists to engage in science with diligence.
Enhancement the participation of women in science and supporting of women
scientists are the international issues in nowadays. According to UNESCO Institute
of statistics the share of female researchers (based on available data only) for 2017
are 30.0% for World, 48.5% for central Asia, and 30.1-45.0% for Uzbekistan.
Overall, women account for a minority of the world’s researchers. Despite the
growing demand for cross-nationally-comparable
statistics on women in science,
national data and their use in policymaking often remain limited. This fact sheet
presents global and regional profiles, pinpointing where women thrive in this sector
and where they are under-represented [9].
