TERMINOLOGICAL NATURE OF DIPLOMACY VOCABULARY

Diplomacy vocabulary is a special part of the language and it engages the minds 
of linguists for many years. However, opinions on whether the lexical units of 
diplomatic relations can be regarded as special terminology or whether they are more 
appropriately classified as commonly used or professionally restricted vocabulary 
vary. The researchers of the terminology their works pointed to the heterogeneity of 
this layer of language. As a result, they offered their own division of vocabulary. 
They highlighted terminology of international relations as vocabulary and Diplomacy 
terminology. 
However, A.V. Avakova calls into question the terminological nature of 
diplomacy vocabulary. Pointing out that its main difference is duality: on the one 
hand, it belongs to diplomacy terminology, and on the other hand it can be attributed 
to general vocabulary. Therefore, it calls within the micro-language of a certain layer 
of lexicon into normative terminology and non-terminological vocabulary. With a 
more detailed analysis of the two lexical groups, it can be noted that diplomacy 
vocabulary of a terminological nature is usually collected in diplomacy 
terminological dictionaries.
As it is known, diplomacy terminology, unlike the terminology systems of 
other spheres of human activity, it is known for its wide prevalence, which is largely 
promoted by the media. This kind of vocabulary is a significant material for 
comparative study, as its lexical units denote concepts that are identifiable for peoples 
who speak the compared languages [1] In the terminological classification terms are 
divided according to the most important features. A deep sign of terms that allows 
them to separate them from other units of the language and dismember the entire set 
of terms is the designation of common concepts for them.

Speaking about the general classification of terminology, V.I. Litovchenko [2] 
distinguishes terms by content and focuses on the following two types of terms. 
1. By object name; Terms are distributed by areas of knowledge or activity, or, 
in other words, by special areas. 2. According to the logical category of the concept, 
this is denoted by the term: terms of objects (cars), processes (multiplication, clerical 
work, compression); Attributes, properties (cold brittleness), quantities and their units 
(amperage, ampere) 
Subgroups of these types were developed by linguists. Classification of terms 
for the object of naming within individual areas of knowledge is considered the most 
detailed classification of terms [3]. It is a good basis for considering diplomacy 
terminology. After all, any international activity is a specific activity, a special 
sphere. The allocation of logical categories of concepts helps in considering the 
special aspects of diplomacy.
As we know, the lexical composition of English language by 75% consists of 
borrowed vocabulary. Its trace left it on the composition of English Diplomacy 
terminology. Many terms of different Diplomacy came in English speech from 
different languages.
For example, in diplomatic relations many terms of French are used.
