Introduction

This chapter deals with general resourcing practices 

covering developing an employee value proposition, 

creating  an  employer  brand,  analysing  employee 

turnover,  tackling  retention  problems,  managing 

absence  management,  introducing  people  to  the  

organization and releasing them from it.

Employee value proposition

An organization’s employee value proposition consists 

of what it offers to prospective or existing employees 

that  they  will  value  and  that  will  persuade  them  

to join or remain with the business. It will include 

remuneration – which is important but can be over-

emphasized  compared  with  non-financial  factors.
