The emergence of the word "robot"
The word was coined by the famous Karel Chapek. He first used the term in 1920 in the title of the play "Rossum Universal Robots." However, he cannot be considered the author of the word “robot”, he is only derived from the Czech robot, which means “work”. According to the author, his brother Joseph suggested the word, while Chapek himself could not decide how to name his heroes.
Types of robots
Autonomous vehicles: Strange as it may seem, robots are able to control us through driverless vehicles. According to the SAE, autonomous vehicles have six levels of automation before they set off, and each level has a specific set of requirements that a vehicle must meet before it can operate at that level. Some examples of the best companies that produce such vehicles are nuTonomy, Zoox, Drive.ai, Tesla, Optimus Ride, Waymo.
Kobots: Collaborative robots or cobots work together with humans to perform their tasks. For example, a Sawyer cob hand that helps greenhouse workers harvest plants. The Mitsubishi cobot offers coffee at the Café X kiosk in Hong Kong. Some coats are also used for high quality inspection, resulting in more accurate production batches.
The main types of robots are industrial, military, medical, service, entertainment and space. Robotics is a discipline that is responsible for developing, building, operating, and operating robots, in addition to computer systems that allow them to control, communicate, and process data.
Robotics is a disciplinary division between engineering and science that includes computers, mechanics, electricity, etc. in a single subject, which is the use of technology to produce machines that can replace humans.
Disaster Response Robots: They perform dangerous tasks such as searching for survivors of an emergency and assisting in other natural activities. For example, Hyrodnalix's emergency life-saving lanyard (EMILY) is a 25-pound, four-meter robot that acts as a hybrid flotation noise box. Shark Robotics ’Colossus will assist in assessing the scene of the fire, transporting firefighting equipment, transporting the wounded and launching a 360-degree high-resolution thermal camera. This was confirmed as clever during the catastrophic fire at the Notre Dame Cathedral in France.
Fun robots: They are designed to evoke human emotions to make us happy. Some examples are RoboThespian; robot-comedian, Navi Shaman; Disney theme park robot and partner; robot musician. A few years ago, four ABB robots took the stage at the National Art Center in Beijing.
