2.2. Speech functions
1) Communicative - the main function (means of communication),
2) emotional-"affective speech" compulsively possesses it (it belongs to humans and animals, it serves to express the emotional state, a specific type of psychological connection. This is done not by signs, but by signals that reveal the experienced state; behind it are always the objects of the external world.)
3) expressive (included in the set of expressive actions along with gestures, facial expressions, etc.),
4) nominative (naming, designation)
5) Important (defining) - the inside of the sign - meaning,
6) Gnostic (storage and transmission of social experience in the form of knowledge),
7) intellectual (serves, shapes thinking),
8) planning,
9) Regulation (regulation of actions).
(3) - (6) - external speech functions, (7) - (9) - internal speech functions.
Speech is a unique human way of forming and shaping ideas using the means of language, a way of expressing and reflecting an emotional response to reality.
Speech functions:
1. Nominative - denoting, naming
2. Important - symbolic, the object is not simply called, there is a connection behind the concept, dynamic events.
3. Communicative - the exchange of information between people
4. Intellectual - speech as a tool of thinking
5. Cultural-historical - an opportunity to collect and consolidate the experience of other people and pass it on to another generation
6. Integration - the integration of mental processes
7. Regulation, planning, analysis
The difference between language and speech:
Empirical features of speech:
F Polymorphism - speech has many forms: external and internal, vocal and silent, and so on.
F Polyfunctionality - Speech has many functions that interact with each other
F Objectivity - Speech is always about a specific object or event that is related to any object
F Generalization - Any concept is already a generalization.
2.3.types of speech
1. Speech-image, narration, meditation is the cognitive function of speech
Speech is the expression of one’s emotions and the development of an attitude towards an event
Speech-command - conative function (active-dynamic)
These aspects can be dissonant or work together. This classification shows that speech is not just a process but an activity.
2. Evolutionary classification:
External speech is a communicative function
egocentric
Internal speech is an intellectual function (1. speech as a means of thinking; 2. internal programming; 3. "self-speech")
External speech is genetically primary, it gradually becomes egocentric - its function is to carry out internalization (conducting an accumulated experience on an external plan), helping to maintain attention and motivation.
This classification indicates that speech can be modified in the medium.
