VERSE: Head of Khorezmshah is now in Tehran,
And his body was left lying helplessly in Sarakhs.
The essence of the story of the in Qanlitepe events is that every year Muhammad Amin Khan made martial campaigns (chapovul) to punish disobedient Turkmens of Merv and Sarakhs and also on the Iranians. In one of such marches in the battle near the place Qanlitepa a person by the name Niyazkhan Ibn Urazkhan Serakhsi beheaded the Khan and seized his belongings. Of the viziers and commanders altogether 14 people who were his paternal cousins, all in all 32 people were killed in that battle. Among them were:the Qadiy of Khorezm Bekchan Divanbeghi, Hudayarby Abdullah makhram, Davlatyarbiy, Bekchan sardar, Niyazquli mingbashi, Allaquli youzbashi, Khaqnazar mingbashi, Davlatniyaz youzbashi who came at the head of 1000 equestrian riders to rescue. Bekmurad Arbab and Mohammed Sheikh Arbab with 2000 horse riders always made military raids (chapovul) to Khorasan. Of them 70 people perished. Jafar Okay who was the ruler and Mirakhmed Jamshidi who was the vizier, they were both seriously wounded".
Separate legends there also run about this minaret among the people: - "They say, that the Khan of Khiva ordered to build a very large and tall minaret. He gave an instruction that - "From its vertex the ancient Bukhara would be seen". Having heard about it the emir of Bukhara concluded with the architect building a minaret the secret contract under which under which immediately upon completion of construction of the minaret he had to build a minaret in Bukhara higher than in Khiva. In reward for this the Emir promised him a a very large amount of tillia (gold coins). Having learned about it the Khan decided to kill the master right after the completion of the construction of the minaret. Having heard about the intention of the Khan the master disappeared, leaving minaret unfinished. There were verses about it among the people saying: - "Madaminkhan's madrasah is completed but his minaret is left unfinished, MadAmin Khan isn't awarded in his desire ". But despite this the minaret even in that state looks majestic and beautiful. It is decorated with majolica tiles of various coloring. At the beginning of our century people, exalting it, conferd a title of "Ulli Minar" ("Great Minaret") on it, "Kok Minar". Contemporaries described Muhammad Amin Khan as follows. Mirza Rizakulikhan Shirazi Lalabash Ambassador who arrived from the Shah of Iran in his book of travels narrates about it this way: "This velayat is free of battles, quarrels, theft and there is no case of failure to return the money borrowed. Nobody quarrels with each other; anybody doesn't even raise the voice. If any of his subjects no matter what class it is, higher or lower, has something to say, he may go to His Highness Khan Muhammad Amin Khan without any obstacles and express to him his request or complaint. If it is a secular case he makes a decision himself and if it be a Sharia matter he instructs his Qazi Kalyan. Charging only zakat, for the rest he doesn't claim for someone's property. Under zakat he charges only one part out of forty, in terms of money he doesn't oppress. In this country everything is cheap, there are a lot of fruits and they are very tasty and their melons are excellent, mulberry fruits are tastier than in Shamran, and fig fruits are better than in Mazandaran. But grapes aren't so good. In the farms channels are full of water. Khan of Khiva took over provision of its subjects with water and land. To everyone a piece of land per one tanap was allocated, everyone who went out on a trip (campaign) one horse would be handed out and for loading on during the traveling two camels. Therefore who is not aware of it (the enemies) his ten thousand warriors seem like thirty thousand, instilling fear into their hearts. They dig the area around the palace (Urda). If someone's horse or a camel dies in a campaign, the loss is compensated to the owner by money equal to its cost, everyone who returns from a campaign is given five tumans. The salary of each person shall not exceed fifty tumans. For this reason, Vilayat is arranged well and its treasury is never empty", - he concludes his description of the behavior and customs of the local population. Madrasah Muhammad Amin Khan was renovated in 1979 and converted into a hotel for tourists. Currently, tourists come here from all over the CIS and from around the world.
