In order to prevent the incidents of snatching / M.V. theft, on 05.02.11 a strong picket was set up at Guru Apartment, Sector-14, Rohini and SI Puran Chand (I/C PP Rohini Court) along with HC Rakesh No. 155/OD, HC Ramesh, 332/OD, HC Balwan, 505/OD, HC Anil, 3200/OD and Ct Dhan Singh, 1466/OD were conducting checking of vehicles under the supervision of Inspr. Instead of stopping the Scooty, he accelerated the speed and tried to run away but the alert picket staff compelled him to stop the vehicle with the help of barricades. He was asked to produce the documents pertaining to ownership of Scooty which he could not produce and tried to mislead the picket staff. On enquiry, he revealed his identity as Mohd. At his instance, four more stolen Scooties were recovered from his house. He further disclosed that his 13 months old son has a hole in his heart who is undergoing treatment in AIIMS. He was unable to bear the expenses incurred on medicines and treatment.
