Rate Confirmation (Rate Con.): Rate con is the confirmation that carrier booked the load from the broker. Rate con is a proof that we have the load. If we do not have the rate con, the driver is not counted as covered. Note: Rate con must have: 1. The load number, 2. Shipper address, 3. Receiver address, 4. Rate (Amount of Money), 5. Pick up number and 6. Delivery number (if needed). The dispatcher must check all the info before dispatching the driver. If the info is the same as you discussed with the broker, then all good. If not, you must call the broker and ask for revised rate con with corrected info.
BOL/POD: Bill of lading or Proof of delivery. These docs are the same and used with the same purpose but have 2 different names. So, we explain it as one doc. This doc must be given by the shipper as we are picking up the load and it must have the signature of the receiver when we delivered the load. Dispatcher must ask the driver to scan the signed BOL/POD and send it to accounting department. The scanned doc should be clear and easy to read as the broker will not pay for the load that has unclear BOL/POD.

Compensations
TONU: Truck Order Not Used. When the load was cancelled by the broker, and when the driver is already on the way to the shipper, TONU fee must be requested. The standard TONU fee is 150$
Detention: The fee that must be paid after 2 hours of unloading or loading. The standard fee is 50$ (bucks) per hour. Sometimes it might differ according to regulations of the broker company. Sometimes you can also negotiate it.
Lumper fee: Lumper fee is the fee paid for unloading. This fee is paid only by the broker. If the Broker claims to reimburse the fee, then the carrier pays it and gets revised rate con with the lumper fee. If the Broker claims to pay lumper fee only by himself, then he will pay it through check. Look at the check types below.
