Motivation is the key to language learning and let is look at the meaning of the word motivation.
Motivation is the word derived from the word ’motive’ which means needs, desires, wants or drives
within the individuals. It is the process of stimulating people to actions to accomplish the goals. In the
work goal context the psychological factors stimulating the people’s behaviour can be -
•
desire for money
•
success
•
recognition
•
job-satisfaction

team work, etc
As a student, I can say that there are tons of reasons which makes me learn English language. The
first and the most important reason students realized is that if they know English language they would
have an opportunity to learn any language or any subject like computer, medicine, physics, or even as-
tronomy whatever they are into it. Science is also a largely English-centric community. With new terms
and published articles most likely to show up in English
, the benefits of learning English are immense.
Trying to be important person in our modern society also encourage students to learn English language.
One of the best benefits of learning English is the educational opportunities. Like job applications, if
you desire access to some of the best schools like Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, Cambridge or MIT, then
knowing English provides you an incredible edge. It’s expected that around 2 billion people around the
world will learn English over the next decade. And to study abroad or if you are trying to take a job
related to traveling, you have to be fluent in English. Because if you have a good level of knowledge
in English you become more valuable to employers and this also inspires a student to learn English.
Another reason what motivates students is that students with IELTS certificate could give more chances
such as earning scholarships. A student who has got an IELTS certificate, and applied to university in
Korea and other countries they could study for free. The Korean government has provided scholarships
to 6,556 international students from 148 nations since 1967, and supports approximately 2,000 students
annually. Applicants can also search other financial support programs offered through specific univer

sities, foundations and companies. Who does not want to get that kind of chance? One more reason is
why students are so motivated to learn English is to keep up to date and know what is going on in the
world. Over the past few centuries, many of the world’s classic works of film and literature were created
in English. The works of Shakespeare will take on a new meaning when you’re able to speak English,
and you can look forward to enjoying such influential classics as Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights and
her sister’s Jane Eyre, George Orwell’s 1984 and Animal Farm, Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and
many, many more. Translation rarely does a writer true justice, so the only way to appreciate a classic
literary work properly is to read it in its original language. Even better, through doing so, you’ll deepen
your knowledge of English by enriching it with new words and sentence structures. While you can gain
access to translated copies, something always tends to feel “off” about the final product. The same can
be said for classic works translated into English. These sorts of botched translations make it difficult
to appreciate some of the great works of English-speaking artists from Shakespeare to Stephen King.
From Hitchcock to Scorsese, to truly feel a great work of film or literature it’s best to experience it in its
native language. The idea which I couldn’t agree more is learning English allows us (students) to travel

to countries across the globe and interact with the people and the cultures there. As we do, we will also
learn more about what makes our culture unique. The more people travel and the more they learn, the
more unique their perspective will be
