Nordenberg Leadership Scholars Program
The Nordenberg Leadership Scholars Program is a University of Pittsburgh scholarship and leadership development opportunity available to current Pennsylvania high school seniors who plan on enrolling as Pitt freshmen in the fall of 2016.  Students who wish to be considered for the program can apply directly at the web site listed below.
The Nordenberg Leadership Scholars Program will provide 10 incoming Pennsylvania freshmen with the following: 


  • A full tuition scholarship for four years or eight semesters of undergraduate study valued in excess of $67,000 over the life of the award

  • Paid internships following the sophomore and junior years

  • Participation in exceptional leadership training and experiences, one-on-one mentoring, and  career coaching

  • Financial assistance in a study abroad experience

B. Kenneth Simon Free Enterprise Scholarship (Robert Morris University)
Student eligibility is as follows:

  • Be enrolled as a high school senior.

  • Be a resident for more than one (1) year of one of the following Pennsylvania counties: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Washington or Westmoreland.

  • Possess a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

  • Possess a combined SAT score of 1100 (critical reading and math) or higher or an ACT composite score of 24 or better.

  • Secure a sponsoring teacher from high school to serve as an advisor for the research paper.

  • Submit a research paper of between 2,500 and 3,000 words on a topic established annually by the scholarship selection committee.

AXA Achievement Scholarship
Awarded to high school seniors with outstanding achievement in their activities in school, the community or the workplace who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year school in the US

  • Ability to succeed in college

SCAD Challenge Scholarship Competition
Challenges are open to current seniors

Senior entrants must complete an undergraduate application to SCAD. Students who have already completed the undergraduate application should submit their work in the SCAD Senior Challenge categories in SlideRoom. Scroll down in SlideRoom to review all of the Senior Challenge guidelines. Applicants may submit work to a category outside of their main major of interest. Applicants may enter work in multiple categories.

Burger King Scholars Program
Students must be graduating high school seniors with a 2.5 or higher GPA, who plan to enroll full-time in a 2-year or 4-year college/university/vocational-tech school for the entire 2015-2016 school year

There is also a Burger King Employee-based track for this scholars program available to anyone who works at or is the child of a Burger King employee.

Recipients are selected based on their GPA, work experience, extracurricular activities and/or community service.

HERB it Forward” Scholarship
“The ‘Herb it Forward’ Scholarship was created to educate those future leaders who will continue to pay it forward," says Shelly Fisher, CEO of Hope Paige Medical ID
Requirements for eligibility include:


  • Individuals 17-25 years of age

  • Residents of the State of Pennsylvania or Hope Paige customers living in the United States

  • 2016 or previous graduates, GED recipients and home-schooled students

  • Hope Paige customer within the last 5 years or immediate family member (siblings, spouse/partner, children, grandchildren or parent)

Caplan-Lieber Human Relations Award
This award recognizes the efforts of a junior or senior high school student who has shown initiative and leadership in combating prejudice and fostering good relations between diverse groups within the school and/or the community.
Consideration for recognition is as follows:

  • Student-initiated programs in the school or community

  • projects that address divisions in society based on race, color, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, class, religion, disability, sex, ancestry, national origin, or other factors

  • the engagement of others to combat prejudice and foster good relations between diverse groups within the school and/or the community

Academic and sports achievements are not considered.


Nomination deadline is Tuesday, January 12, 2016
Central Scholarship and Loan Referral Service (CSLRS)
The Central Scholarship and Loan Referral Service (CSLRS) of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh coordinates the efforts of a group of organizations, agencies and scholarship endowment funds that provide scholarships to local Jewish students enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education.

Demonstrated financial need is a primary criterion in evaluating applicants.
