INTRODUCTION

Language is the main means by which the human personality expresses themselves and fulfills their basic need for social interaction with other people. Besides that, literature is considered one of the major factor which impacts on the development of society. It has shaped civilizations, changed political systems and exposed injustice. Literature gives us a detailed preview of human experiences, allowing us to connect on basic levels of desire and emotion. It embodies the uniqueness, rich history, culture and traditions of the nation. The role of fiction in the development of human consciousness and thinking is invaluable. For this reason, there is a growing need for many skilled translators to translate foreign literature into our native language. Appropriate use of methodological tools in the translation process increases the artistic value of the work.

Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-4797 of May 13, 2016 "On the organization of the Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi, No. PP-4958 of February 12, 2017" On further improvement of postgraduate education " Resolutions, No. PP-2909 of April 20, 2017 "On measures for further development of the higher education system", Decree No. PF-4947 of February 7, 2017 "On the Strategy for further development of the Republic of Uzbekistan" and other normative legal acts serve to a certain extent in the implementation of the assigned tasks. These given opportunities encourage us to explore and deliberate our knowledge to the improvement and development of our country’s education system.
The given dissertation work deals with the comparative analysis of Uzbek and English lexicons. Theoretical and practical study of the role of lexicons in the lexicology and lexical meanings of professional lexicons in two languages are investigated comparatively.
