Beautiful examples of lexical poetry have been created through synonyms, 
and through them Uzbek children's poetry has risen to a new qualitative stage of its 
development.

One of the active units of language is antonyms. The method of using 
antonyms in works of art is called antithesis. The antithesis enhances the emotional 
impact, emphasizing the point being made through what is being challenged

the heart of the antithesis are the units of language with opposite meanings - 
antonyms (derived from the Greek words anti - "against", onyma - "name").

Despite a number of researches on antonyms and antisemia in Uzbek 
linguistics

, the problems related to their system-structural, functional-
methodological properties have not yet been studied as an object of research. 
However, the problems that need to be studied in terms of antonymy are many and 
varied

The study of contradictory words used in children’s poetry can serve as a 
basis for one of the solutions to the problem of antonyms. Because one of the most 
widely and effectively used linguistic units in the Uzbek children's literature of the 
period of independence are words with opposite meanings, and they are divided 
into the following groups: antonyms expressed by adjectives; antonyms expressed 
by the noun phrase; antonyms expressed by the adverb; Antonyms expressed by 
the verb

The relationship of antonyms to other words, including synonyms, is a very 
complex and multifaceted phenomenon. Children’s poets knew this very well and 
have always used it skillfully in their poems. When creating a poetic situation with 
the participation of contradictory words, they repeatedly referred not only to the 
dominant word in the synonymous line existing in the language, but also to the 
lexical units that followed it in order to provide methodological coloring, increase 
effectiveness.
