According to the subject-content area, two types can be distinguished. 
Mon projects are 
projects that are carried out within the framework of one subject or direction, 
choosing the most difficult sections or topics of classes. 
Interdisciplinary
- these can be both small projects that affect two or three subjects or, 
conversely, relatively large, long-term projects aimed at solving a rather complex problem that is 
significant for all project participants. Well-coordinated work of many creative groups that have 
certain research tasks, well-developed forms of intermediate and final presentations. 
Given the nature of coordination, projects can be open (explicit) coordination. In this case, the 
project coordinator performs his own function, correctly directing the work of all its participants, 
and, if necessary, organizing the individual stages of the project, the activities of individual 
performers. 
In projects with hidden coordination, the coordinator does not find himself in the networks or in 
the activities of the groups of participants in his function. 
Taking into account the nature of contacts, projects are divided into internal (within the same 
country) and international (project participants are representatives of different countries). 
By the number of participants, projects are divided into personal, pair (between pairs of 
participants) and group (between groups of participants). 
In terms of implementation, projects are short-term, medium-term (from a week to a month) and 
long-term (from a month to several months).

Work on projects is based on different methods based on the methods of independent cognitive 
activity of students. Almost central among them is the research method, although it causes the 
greatest difficulties. 
Research method - allowing solving the priority task of education - the development of the 
ability to master the world around, based on scientific methodology. The educational research 
project is built by analogy with the general scientific methodological approach, namely: 
1.
determine the purpose of research activities (determined by the teacher); 
2.
put forward a research problem based on the results of the analysis of the source material
3.
formulate a hypothesis about the proposed ways to solve the problem and the result of the 
upcoming study; 
4.
Clarify the identified problem and select the procedure for collecting and processing the 
necessary data, its processing and analysis of the results, preparation of a report and 
discussion of the possible application of the results. 
General approaches to project structuring: 
1.
First of all, the topic of the project and the number of participants are selected. 
2.
The teacher thinks through possible options for problems that are possible for research in the 
context of the chosen topic. final problem put forward themselves students from the filing 
teacher. 
3.
Distribution of tasks into groups, discussion of proposed research methods, information 
search, creative solutions. 
4.
Independent work of participants on individual or group research, creative tasks. 
5.
Regular intermediate discussions of the results obtained in groups. 
6.
Protection projects. 
7.
Collective discussion, announcement of the results of the external evaluation, formulation of 
conclusions. 
Criteria for external evaluation of the project: 

the significance and relevance of the identified problems; 

the correctness of the processing of the obtained results used for research methods; 

activity of each participant depending on his individual capabilities

the collective nature of the decisions made; 

the ratio of the necessary and sufficient depth of penetration into the problem; 

evidence of decisions made, the ability to argue conclusions, conclusions; 

aesthetic design of the finished project; 

The ability to answer questions, conciseness and argumentation of answers. 
The third technology is multi-level training.
