Results: When studying the sensitivity of microorganisms to an extract from an artichoke prickly 
by diffusion in agar showed an uneven sensitivity. The most sensitive extract from artichoke prickly 
showed activity against enterobacteria E. coli, Proteus vulgaris, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella 
pneumonia, the area of growth retention around the wells was 15-18 mm. In the middle degree, the 
gram positive: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, the growth retardation zone on the 
dish was 10-12 mm. Candida albicans, Pseudomonas aerugenosa were fully resistant to extract from 
artichoke prickly, the zone around the holes did not exceed 0.5 mm. 
Conclusions: Extract from artichoke prickly showed antimicrobial activity against intestinal 
bacteria, pathogenic coccobacteria and some hospital microorganisms. Microorganisms 
Pseudomonas aerugenosa, Candida albicans are fully resistant to extract from artichoke prickly.
