November/December Chorus Performances
Dear Chorus Parents:
December is jam packed with chorus practices and performances! Thank you so much for allowing your children to stay after school for chorus. I know this is a busy time and I really appreciate your making the time for our chorus. Please carefully review the information for all the details. I am also attaching a calendar for your convenience.
Wednesday, November 19, 2:35-3:45 p.m., Chorus Practice

Wednesday, November 19, 3:45 – 5:00 p.m., Dance Practice

Only students in the dances “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” and “Swingin’ with Santa” need to stay for this rehearsal.

Thursday, November 20, 2014 7:00pm Lovettsville Town Council Performance

Our chorus has been invted to sing 2 songs at the beginning of a special Lovettsville Town Council meeting honoring education. Please arrive at Lovettsville Elementary School by 6:50 if your child can attend. Students will be finished about 7:20. Students should wear their chorus t-shirts and blue jeans for this performance.

Monday, December 1, 2014 – December Field Trip and Emergency/Chaperone forms due

Wednesday, December 3, 2014, 2:35-4:00 p.m., Chorus Practice

Friday, December 5, 7:30 p.m. - ?, Lovettsville Lantern Parade: We have been invited to participate in the Lovettsville Lantern Parade. All students should meet at the Community Center to parade through town to the Town Square. The chorus students will perform a couple of songs and join the community in Christmas carols. Parents are required to accompany and supervise your child during this event.
Monday, December 8, 2:35-4:15 p.m., Extra Chorus Practice

This is an additional chorus rehearsal. Please let me know if your child cannot attend. Please send a snack with your child as this will be a long rehearsal.

Wednesday, December 10, 2:35-4:15 p.m., Chorus Practice

This is our last after school chorus practice. We will finish at 4:15. Let me know if you need to pick up your child early. Please send a snack with your child as this will be a long rehearsal.

Wednesday, December 10, 2014 6:30pm Holiday Sing-a-long Lovettsville Library

This is a family sing along (not a performance) at the Lovettsville Library. It is optional but a fun activity for the entire family. I know this is not great timing – the day before our Washington trip so I understand if you cannot make it.

Thursday, December 11, 2014 8:45 am Performance for Lovettsville Elementary School

We will perform our winter concert for the school at 8:45pm. Parents are welcome to come to this performance. Students should wear their chorus t-shirts and blue jeans for this performance.

Wednesday, December 11, 2013 National Christmas Tree Performance

This is one of the most exciting and special performances of all for our chorus! The chorus members will take LCPS buses to Washington, D.C. We will leave the school at 2:15 p.m. and return at approximately 7:15 p.m. All students must return a signed permission slip no later than December 1 2014. Students must bring a brown bag dinner and drink (no glass bottles). In addition, they should dress warmly. I have Santa hats for the children to wear. If your child has a red Santa hat they are welcome to bring their own hat. For safety reasons, students must ride the field trip buses to Washington and back to LES. If you would like to transport your child to and from this event, please let me know. In the event it snows, I have attached an emergency form in case the performance is cancelled. Please complete the form and return it to me no later than December 1, 2014.

There is room for approximately 25 chaperones. If you would like to chaperone, please indicate that on the attached form and return it to me no later than December 1, 2014. If more than 25 chaperones sign up, I will pull names out of a hat.

Thursday, December 18, 12:30 p.m.-1:00 p.m., Senior Citizen Holiday Lunch

This is our 15^th year performing for this very special event at the Community Center. We will have bus transportation to and from the Community Center for the students. If you would like to chaperone, please indicate that on the attached form and return it to me no later than December 1, 2013. All students must return a signed permission slip no later than December 1, 2014.
