Key words: sustainable tourism, event industry, event management, event tourism, event types, hallmark events, leveraging events, economic indicators, social, political influences, event tourism evaluation, event evaluation methods.
The object of research is the effects of events on sustainable tourism development in Uzbekistan.
The purpose of the work is to evaluate the analysis of tourism events and to provide recommendations on sustainable tourism development of Uzbekistan.
Methods such as analysis, synthesis, systematic analysis, comparative analysis, empirical observation, survey form, qualitative and quantitative research have been used as research methods.
The results obtained and their novelty:
-Theoretical bases, definition, types and classification of event tourism are scientifically based, the concept of event tourism is defined by the author;
-Evaluation methods have been analysed in order to select an appropriate event type to learn the impact of events in tourism development of the country;
-Events in foreign countries has been analysed to justify that major events can play a significant role for tourism development of Uzbekistan;
-Based on quantitative research of events, proposals have been developed to increase the popularity and integration of event tourism in the country;
-Survays have been carried out to know the condition of event tourism and to analyse its foreseeable future in the country;
-Tourism agency and hotel statistics have been analysed in order to know the impacts of post and pre-events throughout the year.
