Annotation
This present manual is aimed for is the first year students of the philological faculties. The course-book presents different kinds of texts and authentic materi-als, new vocabulary to each unit, phrasal verbs and idioms to enlarge students’ vocabulary.

Мазкур ўқув қўлланма филологик йўналишда таҳсил олаётган биринчи босқич талабалар учун мўлжалланган. Ўқув қўлланмада ҳар бир дарс учун тайёрланган янги сўзлар, фразеологик бирликлар ва идиомалар талабаларнинг сўз бойлигини ривожлантиришга қаратилган.


Данное пособие предназначено для студентов первого курса филологических факультетов. В учебники представлены различные виды текстов и аутентичные материалы, новый вокабуляр для каждого раздела, фразовые глаголы и идиомы для расширения словарного запаса студентов.

Preface
Given course book on “Vocabulary” is an excellent resource for the EFL students, as it meets the priorities stated by the Decree of the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “on measures to further improvement foreign language learning system” 18/75 from December 10, 2012. The decree is aimed at the upbringing of harmoniously developed, highly educated, modern-thinking young generation.
The book “Vocabulary” written and submitted by UzSWLU authors’ group is intended for the second year English Language students at the University of World Languages.
The course book fully meets the requirement of the program and curriculum in this subject. As suggested by its title, the book is concerned to present vocabulary in context and memorizing new words, phraseological units and idioms to the given topic. First year students, therefore, can boost their vocabulary.
There are many authentic materials: dialogs, menus, factual texts and stories. Students are encouraged to perform different vocabulary instructions such as matching, filling gaps, multiple choice and etc.
The analysis of the book showed that it meets modern requirements, educational standards, curricula and especially the use of appropriate information, which is authentic and contextualized. Exercises are designed by providing a context that make students think critically and act as in real life.
The book presents the broad analysis of the tasks that focus on the development of vocabulary of the students. It clearly demonstrates the basic understanding and presents the successful tips.
