Introduction
The modern system of teaching a foreign language is characterized by the fact that the practical knowledge of a foreign language has become the need of every educated person in connection with the requirements of society. A foreign language has a beneficial effect on the general level of people's culture, promotes the development of communication. The formation of communicative competence is the main and leading goal of teaching a foreign language. Today this is especially relevant. Oral communication, whose role has now become especially significant, is impossible without a well-developed speaking skill. For competent foreign language communication, it is necessary to know grammatical rules, constantly replenish your vocabulary, have knowledge about the phonetic features of the language, an idea of ​​the traditions and culture of the language being studied, and, of course, develop speaking skills. According to the state standard for teaching a foreign language for a basic level, for successful communication, a student must learn to conduct a dialogue using value judgments in situations of official and informal communication, talk about himself, his plans; participate in the discussion of problems in connection with the read / listened to a foreign language text, observing the rules of speech etiquette; talk about your surroundings, reason within the framework of the studied topics and issues; be able to present a socio-cultural portrait of their country and the country / countries of the language being studied. [23]
The Law of the Russian Federation "On Education" says that the content of education should provide an adequate world level of the general and professional culture of society, the formation of an adequate modern level of knowledge and the level of the educational program (level of education) of the worldview among students and the integration of the individual into the national and world culture. [26, p.14-15] Achieving this goal is impossible without the use of modern technologies in the learning process, including technical teaching aids, such as video. Despite the sufficient equipment of schools with various equipment, teachers often do not use it in the classroom - primarily because modern educational kits rarely contain video courses, and there is not enough time to select additional material. However, we see video materials as one of the means that increase the activity of students in the classroom and give rise to their desire to speak out, to express their opinion about what they see. Thus, students will develop speaking skills and communication skills in a foreign language, and it is this that is the main goal of teaching a foreign language. The insufficient development of the methodology for using video materials in English lessons determined the relevance of this work. In this work, we will study an innovative method of teaching with the help of video. The object of the research is teaching a foreign language in secondary school. The subject of the research is the use of video materials in teaching a foreign language. The novelty of the study lies in the fact that the more active use of video materials in foreign language lessons will have a positive impact on maintaining interest in the subject, and simplifying both theoretical and practical aspects of learning. The methodological basis of the study is represented by the works of scientists in the field of pedagogy, psychology, teaching methods (Baryshnikov N.V., Bgashev V., Ernarestien N., Galskova N.D., Gez N.I., Kadzhaspirova G.M., Kamenetskaya N.P., Efremenko V.A., Myatova M.I., Leonovich E.O., Smirnov I.B., Kim N.A., Koroleva G.V., Livenets M.A., Malysheva S. V., Perkova V.G., Rozhkina E.V., Saprykin E.E., Cherkassky V.S., Shcheglov Yu.A., Kirillova E.P., Lazareva B.T., Petrushin S. Research methods: study and analysis of literature, description of phenomena, observation, experiment. The structure of the study: the work consists of an introduction, two chapters, a conclusion, a list of references. The first chapter explores the issues of the concept of video materials, types of video materials and their use in teaching speaking, guidelines for the use of video materials in English lessons, the advantages and features of using video materials in teaching a foreign language, features of a foreign language lesson, selection criteria video materials, organization of work with video materials. The second chapter is devoted to the practical use of video materials in foreign language lessons, the analysis of the educational and methodological complex, the characteristics of students in the 4th "B" class, the summary of the fragment of the lesson using video materials, the study of the level of development of speaking skills after conducting lessons using video materials, examples of the use of video materials in senior and middle school. The study was conducted in MAOU secondary school No. 59 in Tashkent in 2018. The practical significance of the study is characterized by the fact that its results will help teachers to successfully apply video materials in their pedagogical activities, thereby improving the level of understanding and “inclusion” in the subject among students, as well as raising the general level of education.
The purpose of this work is to identify the impact of using video materials in English lessons in grade 4 on the development of students' speaking skills, and also try to understand how effective this method is and what are its disadvantages. Many sources will be worked out: educational manuals on the methodology of learning English, manuals on ICT, various magazines and articles. We will try to compare the reviews of those who applied this technique in practice, and draw the appropriate conclusions.
To achieve this goal, it is necessary to solve the following tasks:
1. Define the concept of "video materials", analyze their role in the development of speaking skills in grade 4 students.
2. In the course of a practical study, check the effectiveness of the use of video materials in the 4th grade of a secondary school in English lessons.
Examples of using video materials for middle and high school students will also be provided.
